Is it possible to change Mageia 3 theme to Mageia 2 theme without breaking anything? What would I need to install and uninstall? I am using Grub2 on Mageia 3 Gnome. I would like a continuous theme throughout the boot process and just think that the Mageia 2 theme is really slick. Thanks for any help.

I'm sure there are tutorials on the Web on theming GNOME and GRUB. You might need to pull down the Mageia2 ISO to get the artwork.

You can find all the images contained in all Mageia versions here
http://svnweb.mageia.org/soft/theme/mageia-theme/trunk/
Look in the older revisions for Mageia 2
for example
http://svnweb.mageia.org/soft/theme/mageia-theme/trunk/Mageia-Default/background/Mageia-Default-1024x600.png?revision=4744&view=markup

You can download the images into a folder in your /home and then configure your desktop to use them.

Alternatively you can move them to the default locations which you can establish with the command
Code: Select all
urpmq -l mageia-theme-Default
