I downloaded and copied to a USB stick all.img and used it to install Mageia 3 on a new machine. But, in my haste I forgot to create a separate partition for the Home directory. I haven't been able to rectify that. I need to boot from something else so that I can change the partitions. So, I downloaded Mageia-3-x86_64-DVD.iso and have used various methods to move it to the USB memory, namely dd and also tried copyiso2usb, but this latter can't seem to find the usb device. Using the dd command is not making the USB bootable. The only software that has allowed me to have a bootable usb device is all.img.
So, I'm about to recopy all.img to USB and reinitiate the entire installation process online just so I can change the partition table. Seems to me that there should be an easier way.
In the brief time that I was actually using the system I noticed odd things. I tried to to a urpmi for the chrome browser but it can't find it. That's odd. Do I actually have to install it from Google somewhere.
Also, I can't seem to get my dual monitors set up right. I've never had an issue before, but the System Settings/Display and Monitor software would not always retain the settings between boots. So, I've had to reconfigure the monitors in a less than desirable fashion just so I can retain the settings across boots.
Not real happy so far.
Now going to reinstall using all.img.
