How to choose Netherlands as country

Postby Seadart » Jul 3rd, '13, 12:23

I have just loaded Mageia 3 though I have Mint 15 -Mate 1.6 on another machine. In Mageia I have selected English as my language and Amsterdam as the time zone but there is no choice for Netherlands as country, Netherlands Antilles is there and I saw Aruba as a separate entry but Netherlands; The Netherlands; Dutch; Nederland (dutch name for their country). - nothing!!!!

Can someone please put Netherlands back on the map!!

I am somewhat further. If you click at bottom left of desktop a menu appears with the top item ¨Regional settings¨. This opens a screen called ´LocaleDrake´, which shows as I said. However, if you go to Tools you again see regional settings which is again Drake which is useless; but go on to System Tools -> System Settings, a bigger screen opens with one of the items being ´Locale´. This at last gets a screen with regional settings that make sense. BUT WHAT A RING-AROUND TO GET TO IT!!

Please make this more logical!!!

For what i remember from installation, Netherlands should be found in the option "Other Countires".
This is also stated in the Mageia-installer-docs-page right in top:
http://doc.mageia.org/installer/3/en/co ... untry.html

On the other hand, nothing should withhold you, installing locales-nl.

'Locale' in system settings is a full tool that works, but what is 'LocaleDrake'. What is it there for? I have screen shots of Drake if anyone is interested.

localedrake is to configure the locale settings for the system, Locale in systemsettings only for the current user/KDE desktop.

systemsettings is the name for the KDE tool used to manage desktop & session settings - ask KDE why they called it systemsettings.
And in Mageia Control Center, localedrake is used for the systemwide settings.

For your last question, please see the post from Isadora, she already answered that.
