Hello ,

Often on logging in I have the " kslideshow.kss " window open

On my desktop.

How can I stop it ?

You could change the log in behavior from 'restore previous session' to start with a new session' and restart, maybe that'll wipe it. That's in "configure your desktop" under session management.
