bad install from live dvd-64 bit?

I installed mag3 from downloaded live dvd. System is AMD Phenom II, 16g RAM, 1 TB hdd on ASUS M4N68T-M mobo, all of it new. Had Win 7 on it. Replaced old hdd with new WD 1T unit.

When install finished, I got a working mag3 system but it seems a little truncated -- as in there's hardly any apps installed on it and I can't find anything in the OS that lets me access the online software archive. Update works fine. It keeps my abbreviated system in good working order, but I can't access any more software packages.

Did I do something wrong or did I expect too much from a live-dvd install? Do I need something I haven't got? Is live-dvd an abbreviated package?

Thanks for any input.

rpmdrake (the GUI Software Manager, accessible through the Mageia Control Centre) and urpmi (for the CLI) are always included in a default installation:
https://doc.mageia.org/mcc/3/en/content/index.html
https://wiki.mageia.org/en/URPMI

You most likely just need to configure media in order to access the full range of packages available:

Thanks Jim! But yer 'uz too late. I got tired of fartin' around with it, so I wiped the drive and reinstalled. It was a fresh install anyway, so I lost nothing by it. Works fine now. Thanks for tryin' anyway. Yer a pal. :D
