Hello,
I don't understand why Firefox 4 comes with Tango theme under KDE and Strata under Windows.
According to my taste, it is hideous, I much prefer Strata.
Is my opinion only?

I don't see that it matters what the default theme is as it's very easy to grab and install a theme that suits you

Maybe, it matters for a first impression...
I was also confused by its look.
The lack of transparency is also undesirable.

Well, since it's called "Default theme", I suppose it was an upstream decision to provide Tango with the linux version of Firefox 4.
You can file an enhancement bug on Mozilla's BugZilla (in Firefox > Theme), here:

As Mageia defines its own theme, it could set a default theme as it pleases for FireFox too.
It could recommend some great plugins too (as a separate package), like "AddonFox - Best Firefox Addons!" here

FWIW, some of the icons come from the gnome-icon-theme (e.g. the back/forward arrows, cut/copy/paste/delete in the context menus... etc).
If you change the GTK icon theme used by GTK apps, by creating/editing ~/.gtkrc-2.0 .
