I'm new to Linux, and installed Mageia 3 on an old laptop to see how well the software works. How can I see what the battery status is on the laptop?

Thanks for any help you can give.

Hi

I am assuming you have KDE desktop.

At the bottom right of your desktop should be the clock, then the speaker / volume indicator. Betwen these two should be a small white up pointing triangle.
Hover the mouse over it and a pop will show: "show hidden icons "
Left click your mouse.

kind regards

No. The battery icon does not appear in the "system tray".

Which desktop environment are you using?
