[SOLVED] Unable to drag and drop icons

Mageia 3 clean install Kde w/Kwin desktop
I cannot drag and drop icons around the screen or from the desktop to Docky

Searched all drop down panels they do not reveal a way to unlock icons
I have found that by right click on icon opens submenu
From there I can use alt and click/hold submenu and move icons
Is this the normal procedure for Kde to drag and drop icons

Hi

I think it depends on the desktop setting.
If you have the desktop setting out of the box [ folder view , has 3 icons " home, join Mageia, trash "down left side of desktop ] its a multi-step process as you have found.
If you change the desktop setting to "default " you can just left mouse click the icon and drag it around to wherever you want

Well I did get something working that I wanted
I setup a new panel and added launchers from the main menu to it

I cannot move them to a new position on the new panel without removing them and starting over adding them in the sequence I want
No big deal to redo them only thought I should be able to move as wanted

Well, click on the cashew at the right edge of the panel, and then just move them around. Does that work?
