M3:USB mount and copying of large files

Hi

I've got two issues that appeared after a recent update.

Firstly, if copying large files to the usb drive, they "get copied" quickly, then I can click on unmount drive and no indication is given whether the drive is active or not. Before the update, I would get gnome notification saying that data is being written to the drive (as obviously file manager hasn't finished copying the file), followed by a gnome notification that it is safe to remove the drive. Now these notifications are missing - any way to fix that? (reverting to a previous version of the changed package suits me as well)

Secondly, now every time I insert a drive, I have to give administrator's password to get it mounted. This used to be done without a password. Is there a way I can change this as well?

Thanks

Does viewtopic.php?f=41&t=5148 help? But should normally only be the case for internal partitions or similar.
What drive are you inserting, and which filesystem does it contain?
