I removed kcm touchpad and installed synaptiks. However, when I try to open synaptiks I get the following message: KDEInit could not launch '/usr/bin/synaptiks'. I have to reinstall kcm touchpad to have toucpad control, but my preferred application is synaptiks. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

You want to look at the file not run it, so
- Code: Select all
cat /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/50-synaptics.conf
would be more appropriate.
If you still get permission denied try as root.

Please show the output of
- Code: Select all
xinput -list
Just tried synaptiks here, and it runs just fine, without removing kcm_touchpad.
