[SOLVED] insert "core release" (mageia 3)

Hi there,

I just installed Mageia 3 kde on my laptop using a usb flash drive.
Everything seems to work fine, but when I try to add new software using the mageia controll center after letting me confirm that there are dependencies which must be met, it prompts me to insert the medium "core release".
I don't really know what that means. I tried inserting the usb flash drive from which I installed Mageia 3, but it doesn't seem to have any effect.

thanks

Go in MCC, Software Management, & Configure Media Sources for Install and Update. It should show your media selected, look to see if it list CD/DVD option and uncheck it if it's checked. It should be good to go after unchecking it.

I did that, but then I couldn't install any new software (no search results). I think it was the only source available to get software from.

First, I figured out, that my flash drive wasn't mounted (duh), so I mounted it and it worked (but only if "core release" is checked where you told me to uncheck it).

But carrying the flash drive around is obviously not a real solution. Good thing you can add new sources. Which I did (by clicking "Add", which got me a couple of mirrors to get software from).

So. Thanks! You pointed me in the right direction!
