[SOLVED] Ctrl+Alt+F2 (F3,F4, etc) stop working

Greetings.

I don't known the reason, but today I tried to use that classic combination of keys to enter text mode and no way. The last time I tried was about a week ago and worked perfectly.
Now, however:

F1: Graphical (KDE)
F2 ~ F11: The screen stays black without the login text
F12: Black screen with green squares all around (like huge radioactive pixels)

Additional Info:
OS: Mageia 2
Desktop: KDE
Graphic Card: nVidia 7950GT (proprietary driver 304.84)
If more info is needed, let me know.

Strangely enough its stopped on mine, not done it a good few weeks though so dont know when exactly it stopped.

Only difference is mine is just corrupted/garbled .

MG3 RC with an HD5870.

Never had a problem with it before but had that happen with an Nvidia card like what described above. All be it with an older GTC7x series card. I don't remember what was the fix was, Sorry!

mmm, some investigating is in order.

Pete.

Solved

The problem was the driver.
I booted in failsafe mode and from there I was able to update the driver to the newer one.
Now it works as expected.

Greetings!
