Unexpected Hardware Driver installation behaviour

Postby xyzzy » Apr 6th, '11, 17:43

Last night I installed Beta 1 x86_64. Once the installation was complete (including running updates) my WiFi card was not working so I went into the Configure Hardware utility. As soon as this finished detecting the hardware it then downloaded 119 packages which seemed to be device driver packages and dependencies. This seems strange to me should this not have happened during installation? Did I choose some option during installation which caused this? Should this be reported as a bug?

Interesting a forum bug! What I did was start to write the question in this section, decided it would be better in the other section, so I deleted what I had written, checked it had not been posted, then wrote the other question in the other section. So somehow this has appeared even though I confirmed it had not been posted!
