Don't use the script directly from AMD. Mageia is very well organised on the Catalyst front.
Before doing anything further, type fglrxinfo into the terminal. You may have Catalyst installed but not Catalyst Control Center.
If you get a return from fglrxinfo
The driver is installed. Then simply make sure you have the tainted repo activated and install the fglrx-control-center package. You can then open this from your menu/app screen
If you don't get a return from fglrxinfo
Go to the MCC -> Hardware and try the first top left option (chipboard icon - I'm using Mageia in a different language and I can't remember what they're called in English) or the option to the right on the second row (screen icon). Then try fglrxinfo. You might also want to do aticonfig --initial as root before you reboot.
Normally, you would choose the "driver" option (something like F4) on the very first splash screen when you install Mageia but no worries, you should be able to do it now.
