There's a difference between a dedicated /boot and one created under /. If you do not use a separate /boot one will be created in /. I believe you'll be ok as long as you install the boot loader to the mbr, which IIRC is the default behavior.

Of course this is predicated on the extent to which Mageia devs have implemented btrfs.

Don't get exploded man_drake, just normal language will do.
I can imagine getting over-heated sometimes, but just count down from ten, take a deep breath and proceed.
Shouting won't help getting much support, so please!!!!

Who lied where? And an explanation for what exactly?
Please calm down, or the thread will be locked, this attitude is not constructive.

btrfs-progs is available since Mageia 1: http://mageia.madb.org/package/show/app ... trfs-progs
Also you didn't post what commands you used, from which those error messages resulted. The second is definitely bogus,
there is no package called btrfs

all that happened in partitioning...I encourage you to do an installation[even on virtualbox] and will see!

better:

if I wanna reinstall with BTRFS how I do?

Well, if the package btrfs-progs is not on the installation medium, and no online access is available within the installer, installation of that will fail.
Also you don't even mention which installation medium you used for that mga3b2 install?

That cannot work, it's not on the livecd: ftp://ftp.nluug.nl/pub/os/Linux/distr/m ... 586-CD.lst
It's only on the DVD, as shown in the bugreport.

Also, normally you don't need a separate /boot partition, i've never used one. Normally only useful if you want to put many
distro's kernel/initrd images in there, or for encryption. But for normal use it's not needed.
