[SOLVED] Pixel glitch / strange dots with KDE / Nvidia

Hello everyone,

I have just installed mageia and had a look at the gnome and KDE versions. When running KDE, I have some random black squares (all 2x2pixels in size) at the left top of my screen that flicker when the area is refreshed i.e. I move the mouse cursor through the field. The glitch only occurs when using KDE and happens regardless of proprietary or os drivers.
The attatched picture shows the affected area.
I would really appreciate any help!

Thanks,
ma0

This was already reported as https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6103 and here in the forums: viewtopic.php?f=23&t=2523
So you probably should run
Code: Select all
nvidia-settings -a InitialPixmapPlacement=2 -a GlyphCache=1
as root and then change to another
tty via Ctrl+Alt+F5 and then return back to the original one (should be on F1, but could also be F7)

Does that help?
