Hallo all here! I was a Mandriva user, in fact, on my desktop is still Mandriva 2009 operating.
I have an old laptop- pentium 2 366 mhz, 4 MB video, HDD 6 GB, 128 MB ram. The laptop has one USB port and one working PCMCIA bus also CD-ROM drive.

I installed Mageia 2 from CD- dual arch, LXDE. At first, system worked fine- but..
When I put an usb stick in the USB port, it does not automount. PCMANFM doesn't see it. CDROM works fine, automounts.

I have read some links- mageia bugs also, then I followed a lot of instructions-
https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8473#c2

and linket to this bug other instructions, also edited /etc/dbus-1/system.conf
and nothing!
It is a quite annoying to me.

Can anybody to tell me, step bu step, if possible, how to fix the automounting USB drive problems?
I am not so much experienced user. I like mageia 2, and would like to have it fully operational on that old laptop.
Thanks in advance.

mark this as SOLVED
I edited my /etc/fstab - added that line :

/dev/sdb1 /media/usb auto umask=0,users,iocharset=utf8,noauto,rw,exec 0 0

sda is the hard drive, the system recognizes usb stick as sdb. cdrom is sr0.

After that, when I put an usb stick /I got only one USB port/- it mounts in /dev/usb and users can read and write.

Nik123, next time just edit the subject of the topic by editing the first message.
Place [SOLVED] to the left of the title, that'll do.
This time i did this for you, as a service. ;)
