[SOLVED] No more stop process with a new installed Mageia 2

Postby Lebarhon » Feb 1st, '13, 16:52

Hello,

I updated my main PC from Mageia 1 64 to Mageia 2 64. I had problems with packages impossible to install due to missing dependencies or conflicts. Mageia 2 works anyway, but I can't stop the PC. The splash with the cauldron and 5 bubbles is displayed straight away after the stop order (I tried in KDE and in command line with shutdown, halt, poweroff with no differences). If I hit ESC, I have a black screen with the blinking cursor. If I hit ALT CTRL F1, I have a full screen of lines, all beginning by Started ... or Starting ... and a [OK] at the end. That looks more like a boot screen than a shutdown one. The last line is always about hal.
The only way to stop is the salvage one with a long press on the power on/off button.
How to get back a "normal" stop ?
Thanks for your help.

I started in Mageia failsafe and the shutdown command worked fine, so is it a video problem ?
I tried with other drivers, no better
I had a look in systemctl with this command :
Code: Select all
[samageia@localhost ~]$ systemctl |grep failed
atieventsd.service        loaded failed     failed          LSB: ATI Events Daemon
lm_sensors.service        loaded failed     failed          Initialize hardware monitoring sensors
ntpdate.service           loaded failed     failed          Set time via NTP

My graphic card is a nVidia Geforce GT520, not an ATI ?
Any idea ?
