Running MGA 2 on Dell inspiron with no physical LED for cap or numlock .

Looking for applet- keyled such as the one found in PCLOS repos but cannot find it here. Maybe I don't have correct repos checked?

Tried to install applet-keyled from KDE.org but no go. I could really use something to tell me when numlock or caps are on. I found something ( I think it was kbstate) but that only lights up the virtual button for max 4 seconds then disappears. I need something that toggles and remains on so I know the state of the button.

Any help appreciated.

Insofar as numlock goes, do you have numlock installed?

Code: Select all
urpmq -i numlock
Name        : numlock
Version     : 2.1.2
Release     : 6.mga2
Group       : System/Configuration/Boot and Init
Size        : 12306                        Architecture: i586
Source RPM  : numlock-2.1.2-6.mga2.src.rpm
URL         : http://svnweb.mageia.org/soft/numlock/
Summary     : Numlock key locker
Description :
NumLock enable to lock the numlock key. Only enable it at boot-time with
ntsysv or with any other SVSR like rc.d config scripts editor such as
tksysv or the ones from GNOME and KDE.
NumLock is safe for laptops since it is disabled by default.

In KDE System Settings, is there not an option in Hardware-->Input Devices-->Keyboard to set the NumLock state on startup?
