i installed mageia 2 after using mandriva for 8 years on my laptop i3 processor. There are few glitches with kde.
1) Slow booting time
2) Sometimes it freezes
3) Network monitor dont comes up after clicking on monitor tab in network settings
4) Network icon missing sometimes from tray
5) Manual connecting accesspoints when i change location (office and home). They are in list
6) Error on desktop "could not start process. Cannot talk to klauncher". Desktop icons missing
7) Alt + tab dont work on the applications which are run from desktop short cuts. They are excluded.
.

Very welcome to the Mageia community normunds!!!! :)

Just one advise: to have the best results and for readability-reasons,
it would be smart opening topics for one issue at a time. ;)

Have magical times around!!! ;)

Welcome

I assume you have done all your updates?
1/ Do you mean KDE take a long time to load, or the computer takes a long time to boot. If the former, then yes it does. That is why I now use XFCE
3/ That is in the errata https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Mageia_2_Errata
5/ Do you have roaming enabled?
6/ Did you keep your old /home directory?
It may be worth creating a new user to see if the problem persists.
