Problem installing Audacious from Soft. Manager

Postby linux_69 » Dec 30th, '12, 22:58

Hello guys. I was trying to install Audacious using the Software Manager, but when I tried to check the box of the package the following message was displayed:

Sorry, the following package cannot be selected:

- audacious-3.2.3-1.mga2.i586 (due to conflicts with audacious-plugins-3.2.4-1.mga2.i586)

I've been installing software all day and had no problem until now. Why is this happening and how can I fix it?

Thanks.

Hey there linux!

I think if you uninstall the audacious-plugins package, you should be all set to install audacious. It seems that you've run into a version conflict between the two packages.

Well, I tried to find 'audacious-plugins-3.2.4-1.mga2.i586' with the software manager but it seems I don't have it; nothing was returned after the search. Could the error be due to something else?

Please show the output of the following commands:

Code: Select all
rpm -qa | grep audacious
urpmq --list-media active
urpmq --list-url
urpmi --test audacious

The last one as root, as it says. The rest looks good so far, correct repos configured,
and audacious is not installed currently.
