My CD/DVD drive is not being detected by Mageia2

Hello guys. I installed Mageia2 with virtual box and downloaded K3b, but after I ran the program it told me there was no CD/DVD drive, so I couldn't use it's main feature (burning disks). Why could this be? Is it 'cause I'm running Mageia2 on virtual box or is it 'cause I did something wrong during the installing process?

One more thing: I have downloaded some software with no problem at all, but with two specific programs (evince and k3b) it happened that, though they had been succesfully installed (checked it with the software manager), they didn't appear anywhere on the menu (development, tools, sound & video, office, etc); I had tu open K3b with 'Run'. Why is this happening?

As always, thank you for your help.

If the CD/DVD drive in question is not connected via USB, you cannot use it from within the virtual machine, at least not for burning stuff. I've not tried it to be honest, but i don't think this will work.

For the missing menu entries, which desktop environment are you using? k3b is hiding a bit within system tools, FWIW ...

Mr. Doktor5000, the drive is not connected via USB, it comes integrated with the laptop, so this must be the reason. About the missing entries, I'm using LXDE; I'll take a look around and see if evince and k3b are hidden somewhere. Thanks.
