Just noticed that my Mageia 2 boot menu seems to have gained a new boot option: "server 3.3.8-2.mga2"
Any idea where that has come from, should I be using that or the default boot option?
Thanks,
Nick

Probably because you installed a kernel update. The default entry will always point to the latest installed kernel,
and so versioned entries get added for all kernels, so you can still boot the old ones.

Ah I see, I think...
So the default option which boots to:
/boot/vmlinuz
is likely to be a later kernel than the one which boots to:
/boot/vmlinuz-3.3.8-server-2.mga2
Have I understood that correct?
Edit:
Not to worry I have just spotted that vmlinuz is actually a link to vmlinuz-3.3.8-server-2.mga2.

Yep, best look at the symlinks below /boot, probably describes the setup the best way
