[SOLVED] Create User Account - Change Search & Launch???

I can create a user account in MCC>System>Manage Users but when I log into it I get a Search & Launch Activity. How do I get a default desktop? For the life of me I can't add a panel with a app launcher and tray etc.

You can change your "Activities" by right-clicking into the desktop.
Choose for "Activities...", and choose the preferred activity, most likely "Desktop".

Thanks Isadora, but there is no Activities on the right click menu. I think it may be a user restriction. All I can do is add widgets. It is a mess. I made more than one user too...they are all the same. I need a command to change it from a console as I can get that. Most programs I do open flash and disappear behind the "wallpaper"?????

I'll try and take a snapshot but I don't think I can see it if I launch it.

Ok, I got it. There is a System Settings icon, click that, then Workspace Behavior>Workspace and change it to Desktop and apply. From there you have the main panel to fall back on as you learn to use it.

I have played around a little with activities and the fact is I don't like change...but on the other hand change is ok a little at a time! Wow! If that is what Metro in Win8 is like, forget it. I can see it's usefulness but I'm sure KDE is much more flexible than any MS OS ever has been. I finally installed Mageia on my Desktop and got my comfortable chair so I'm having a pretty good time digging around.

KDE is one power house Desktop! There is no way a guy could know it all...I guess that is why a "team" works on it. No, really, it impresses me more everyday.
