Sorry im new in this system, i came from linux mint.

I just installed mageia like 2 hours ago and its running fine, but when i run urpmi and try to install something for example gcc it returns:
No package named gcc

Wherever the package is, i dont know if i had to add repositorys or something. Tried to play an mp4 video file and when it tried to find the codecs it shows an alert:

an error ocurred location not found

thanks for the help!
greetings from Mexico. :D

Welcome to the Mageia-forum gerapio!!!

What you need is adding the necessary repositories.
Advise you to follow instructions like in:
viewtopic.php?f=7&t=350

Good luck!!!

Hi. We are all new to Mageia but if it is like Mandriva then gcc is not on the LiveCD for reasons of space. You will need to enable the online repositories in MageiaControlCentre>Software>Configure Media Sources

As for playing mp4 video, like Mandriva, Mageia has a special repository for packages covered by patents. Enable the 'Tainted' repository and then install the codecs.
If you install gstreamer0.10-faad gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad gstreamer0.10-plugins-good gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly that should cover you for most codecs you will need.
