Hi,
I verified that the Mageia 2 recognizes the "canon usb camera" as a regular user, but does not access the photos. As
root, Mageia 2 recognizes the camera and access the photos.
- Code: Select all
[common user-mageia-2-kde@localhost ~]$ lsusb

Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub

I tested here in Mageia 2 and KDE as a regular user, using software Digikam, I could add the Canon camera (usb) manually, but was unable to access the photos, it appears the warning: Failed to connect the camera.
Then I accessed the software Digikam as
root, I added the "canon camera" and it was possible to manually download the images normally.
Therefore I think that there is a problem of permission to access some cameras as common user in Mageia 2.
Note-01: In Mageia Control Center, the "canon camera" is classified as a scanner and not the usb port
