[SOLVED] new updates available

Hi again.
I am getting a warning that "new updates are available" but when I click on the red icon with an exclamation mark on the panel a new window opens but it doesn't show any updates;


Furthermore I cannot close that window. All I can do is diminish it.
Any thought?

Something may be wrong with your online media sources or the urpmi database. Try deleting your media and setting new sources first. I usually use the file menu-->set specific mirror and chose one close to me, rather than just click the "add" button in the media manager.

If that doesn't help look up how to update the database, there's a couple simple commands you run in a terminal as root.

Well, I rebooted and sure enough the packages that could be updated were there and I could download and install them and close the window after that. So who knows what was happening;


I had changed the mirror a few days ago btw.
