[SOLVED] changing time on the panel

Postby rejean » Oct 29th, '12, 04:32

Hi again!
I cannot get the right time on my panel even after going into the Control Center and trying to change it as you can see;

I have tried and tried and it is 3 hours ahead no mater what I change.
Any clue?

Is your system set to UTC or local time? If for your location the difference is 3 hours - this is the reason I guess.

I faced the same problem, my panel clock was behind 9.30 hours. Dont know whats the problem , but i solved it by enabling Network Time Protocol.

As the previous picture shows I am trying to "enable" the Network Time Protocol and it is set for "my" time zone and the time on the clock is correct but the time shown on the panel is 3 hours ahead although if I put the cursor over it I see the right time as this picture demonstrate;

right click the clock-->digital clock settings-->time zones. Make sure your zone is enabled, and the "clock defaults to:" drop down set to the same.

That did it oj.
I kept using "adjust date and time" not knowing what "digital clock settings" was about, but your suggestion fixed the problem.
Thanks a lot! I really appreciate it.
