HP dv6 3160us - dual ATI card issue

I have tired a number of distro's but I have a HP dv6 3160us laptop which comes with AMD M880 chipset and two cards:
Integrated ATI Radeon 4250 & Discreet ATI Radeon 5650 1GB video card which switched between them based on battery or power in Win7. I checked the BIOS and there is not an option to manually select integrated or discreet, so the flgrx driver only supports the integrated card 42XX series. The reason I am having an issue is that wish to use the HDMI port and without using the 5650 card I cannot make that happen.
