[SOLVED] Okular 0.14.3 printing

I am running kde 4.8.5 and Okular 0.14.3, Mageia 2-64 without the akonadi stuff and cannot print from Okular. Files display correctly on the monitor but are blank on the preview, and blank pages print. Googling results in a few references to the issue, with one report that it might be related to "poppler," but as far as I can tell the poppler stuff is installed. Others mention problem but no real solution. CUPS is installed correclty and every other application prints normally. I have looked everywhere I can think of and cannot find any okular log file on the system in order to post any output from it, nor does "view system logs" from the MCC show anything. I can still print using ePDF viewer, but it is very basic and has no accessibility features, and I am unable to get adobe to work after installing the file downloaded from the adobe website. Any kind of workaround for this Okular issue?

this happens with all pdf files or only some files?

Are your updates up to date?
Other people are not experiencing this problem, so there has to be something about your set up causing it. If the preview is blank then it is not likely to be an issue with the printing system.

Thanks. System updates are current, and the problem is reproducible/predictable in that it happens with all pdf files. It appears that now okular will usually go ahead and actually print the document, and that now it is only the preview that is messed up. The preview will show some blurry stuff, acting l ike it is trying to show it, and then go blank.

Figured out the inciting factor. Turns out that turning on the "change colors" option in the accessibility dialog messes up the preview. I had changed the background from white to something less glaring to make reading easier on the eyes, something that I had been doing for awhile on adobe on an XP system at work. It says on there that it may affect drawing speed, although rendering performance seemed fine for me. Spefically, the one regarding changing dark and light colors. Changing the one that spefifies paper color doesn't seem to affect it now. Should have played around with those options a bit more I guess.

So as this seems a bug (if even after waiting, say half a minute or a whole minute, within the preview dialog for the preview to render and display the altered colors) it should be reported: https://wiki.mageia.org/en/How_to_report_a_bug_properly

Issue does not appear now with Mageia 3 w/KDE 4.10.2 Okular 0.16.2.
