Keystrokes and Evolution

Congratulations to the dedicated Mageia team on the timely final release!
There are two problems I´d like help with: Firstly, 104 international keyboard requires double strokes on apostrophe and quotations. Iǘe tried changing configurations and options to no avail. Please note that the character errors in the preceding sentence were the result of typing ¨ I´d¨ and not taking the time to double stroke the key. Secondly, Evolution will not launch despite repeated attempts at removal and reloading, including complete shutdown. Any suggestions?

I found a way to write an apostrophe with only one keystroke. At least, it works with my AZERTY keyboard, but I´m not sure every keyboard will behave the same way.
I had to enable an option in the KDE configuration tool (you may have to adapt what comes next, it´s live translated from French):
Hardware > Input devices > Keyboard > Advanced > Various compatibility options > Enable extra typographic characters
Now, I can have the apostrophe with Alt Gr + P. I did not find anything explaining what that option does exactly, though.

For Evolution, could you try to launch it in a terminal emulator?
For example, you launch Konsole, then type "evolution". It should print an error message or something useful to help us solve your problem.

Warm congratulations on the lovely Mageia 3 release! It installed beautifully, and it's running very well here.

Perhaps the only irritation was having to type space after the ' key to get an apostrophe, so I was glad to see this post and have been testing out system settings. I'm fairly sure I'd chosen standard US keyboard layout during installation (I have an 84-key Filco keyboard, with US layout), but System settings > Input devices > keyboard showed me US intl was installed. I added plain US and switched to that - bingo, back to the usual one-key way to type an apostrophe.

But it's interesting to see all the other options. I sometimes want to type a £ sign, and look! now I can. I've ditched the US intl layout and added English UK as my second option, with € and £ signs ready. That's better than having plain US and US intl, since the label and flag for these are the same - tricky to tell which one is active :)

Has anyone else found that US layout chosen during installation became US intl?

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
