Another failing to boot Magia2 problem

Postby multipack » Sep 20th, '12, 20:59

Hi All
I installed mageia2 64 bit tonight, installation went smoothly however when i rebooted the machine hangs on boot the only failed part i see is
Failed to start LSB: Update the intel / AMD microcode
There are a few more lines after that and everything states its ok but it hangs at Started system logging service and doesnt go any further.
Ive tried the different options at boot with still the same result.
I installed mageia on a drive of its own ( 160gig velociraptor ) and have windows installed on a corsair ssd i change the boot order in bios to select which drive because when i choose windows installation i get a no operating system found error.

Any help greatly appreciated.

have you tried to start in console mode
(when you see Grub, press F6, select "Default" and enter a space and a 3 at the end of the line, press Enter)?

or to press CTRL-C to see if the boot goes on?

the microcode error should not be the cause of your problem

Sorry in the delay in replying,
Doing what you suggested doesnt advance the boot any further it still stays stuck, i think the problem maybe be my add on sata3 card, i will remove the card and try again, i will post back with an update.

Thanx
