Solved Application Launcher and Folder View won't stay open

The classic style Application Launcher only stays open for a few seconds, no matter if the mouse is moving through the choices or hovering over one.

However I just noticed this problem happens with the Folder View applet (that I can't live without) also.

This does not happen (to the application launcher) when using the Kickoff style application Launcher. And does not happen to any
other menus that I have seen like within Dolphin or Kwrite etc.

I would be more than happy to just turn off any of the "Look at me, ain't I pretty" features if that would solve my problem, even though
it didn't fix the underlying issue. I am always using older hardware and try to turn as much of that off as I can anyway.

I have Mageia 1 on two other boxes without this problem, this is the first Mageia install on this box though.

Any ideas how to stop this from happening?

Solved, Somewhat.
It seems something called an "Icon Only Task Manager" was installed by default at installation. In the setting for that
I .... don't remember everything for sure but I did change the "show tooltips now" to "show tooltips after delay" and
I unticked "show recent documents" and "enable dockmanager plugins", and I changed the "middle-click action" to
'nothing'. I think maybe thats all I did. No idea which of those allowed my problem to be corrected, I will see if I can or
want to do without the "Icon Only Task Manager" when I get a chance.
