Rasmol

Could anyone confirm very strange behavior of the molecular structure imaging program called Rasmol?
I am still on Mageia1 64-bit with KDE, but it seems to me that Rasmol itself contains a bug, so that it is not a package issue. So if it behaves the same in Mageia2, it's a program bug...
So, when I launch it, it starts fine, but stops reacting on mouse clicks after I try to open any .pdb file (molecule structure). I can click on File and see a menu, but after Open is chosen nothing happens - no dialogs or whatsoever.
If I start Rasmol from the console, I can specify the .pdb file to open, but only in console. Moreover, what I can see is just a fraction of the structure and it looks quite corrupted.
