[SOLVED] Icon-Only Task Manager

Postby Wundoze » Aug 17th, '12, 12:35

I am new to Mageia. The task manager by default shows launchers for File Manager, System Settings, Control Center and Firefox. Is there a way to add more launchers to this group instead of using the add to panel option so that the icons remain consistent?

hi and welcome here :)

I'm not sure to have understood what you mean,
but have you tried to:

- search your application in the menu
- right click on icon of your application (still in the menu)
- choose 'add to panel'

Thank you for responding. Yes, I am familiar with this function but adding say Thunderbird to the panel using this method produces an icon considerably larger than the Firefox one that is there by default in the icon-only task manager.

ok, I have understood now

if you right click on icon-only task manager
then choose "icon-only task manager settings",
there is an option to scale the icon size,
you can try to change it

I have it to 'automatic',
but I can't remember how it was when I installed MGA

The correct way to do this is to fire up an application that you wish to add to the Icon-Only Task Manager. Once it's running, right-click on its icon in the panel and then click on Show A Launcher When Not Running.

Also you may want to look for https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Mageia_2_Err ... ace_Issues under the section "Mageia Panel".
