[SOLVED] what software opens .txt files?

[SOLVED] what software opens .txt files?

I seem to have deleted the wrong software, cause now I can't open my plain text documents, and the options in the "install and remove software" are large.
so what exactly is the software that opens and uses these files?

editors

kwrite (KDE), gedit (Gnome), leafpad (LXDE) ....
Now after my words of profound wisdom, I'm going back to procrastinating.
