Yet another font question--xclock

xclock -norender -digital -font or -fn followed by anything doesn't work for me. I am not sure what syntax to use (nothing taken from the output of xlsfonts seems to work, for instance).

If the font doesn't exist, I get the message "Warning: Cannot convert string "____" to type FontStruct". If the font does exist, I do *not* get any error message but the font still doesn't work, which implies that my syntax is okay.

Googling shows that many years ago, xclock -norender -digital had a bug where it couldn't set any fonts; I wonder if this is a regression.

Is there anyone who can run xclock -norender -digital -font on Mageia 2 and get it to show an xclock using the font? Is this just a bug or am I missing some option?

What is wrong with the default font? So with
Code: Select all
xclock -norender -d

Googling for
Code: Select all
xclock 2012 "Warning: Cannot convert string" "to type FontStruct"
gives over 2.000 results, I don't have time to look, but maybe you can find the answer there.
