Flash no longer working

I have been away for a couple of weeks and on returning had to download a number of updates, including to Firefox and Google Chrome. Now Flash does not work on the BBC news site with either browser. I have checked Mageia Control Centre and I still have the Flash rpm loaded.
How do I get Flash working again, or is their and open source equivalent?
Andy

Are you at the latest revision flash-player-plugin-11.2.202.236-1.mga2.nonfree from the nonfree/updates repository?
A number of BBC sites have recently changed their minimum version level for flash.

That worked, thanks.
I was running 10.1.53.64 which must have been a leftover from my upgrade from Mageia 1. Somehow the nonfree sources had been unselected - not sure how as I didn't change the settings.
Anyway, the BBC site now works again.

That's because when you do an upgrade it ignores all the sources you currently have enabled and uses just the core repository for the upgrade.
I am
hoping that will be fixed for Mageia 3

Hi, I am also having trouble with flash - and Java, I find a few of the sites I go to need these working.
I've searched forums, and tried following instructions loading software from Adobe and java on their sites. Also I've reinstalled Mageia 2, added the non free repos and loading through the package manager. I've also added sym links into the mozilla plugins directory.
It's all to no avail. I see the plugins in firefox but for some reason they wont work for me.
Is there a 'how to' that I've missed somewhere? I'm a beginner at this sort of messing with linux, I've not had to do this with other distros. I understand about non-free stuff etc. but there must be an intuitive way to sort this out, it makes so many sites unusable and eventually the distro will become out of favour.

Please don't hijack other threads, and please only one topic per thread. For Flash, there is a MAQeia available:
viewtopic.php?f=34&t=880For java, please first use the forum search function and then open a separate thread, if you don't find anything related.
And then please add some details, like which browser in which version, which plugins in which version and which sites don't work etc. ...
