BIOS: No more boot option for the HDD/SSD!!!

Hello,

I have been on this problem for the past 6hours. The BIOS (pressing esc when the PC starts) doesn't offer me anymore to boot on the HDD. And even less on the SSD (this is a zenbook UX32vd with 32GB SSD and 500GB HDD).
I use the rescue tool from Mageia2 live DVD. Select reinstall boot-loader but this fails, saying it couldn't find my root device.

What should I do to get my bios boot options for HDD and SSD?

Ludovic

After some magic of mageia or myself, i don't know what happened but the SSD drive appears as a boot option. Not the HDD. If I proceed to partition myself the disk, i see the hdd (on /dev/sda) has a partition table type GPT, whereas the ssd on /dev/sdb is of type DOS.

I am still in the dark... Why would the ssd be of dos type, appearing while it didn't for 5hours?

I would check to see if all the connections to the drives are OK. It could be a loose cable playing you a trick here.
