Hi everyone,
I am a newbie of Linux, and I used Fedora-gnome3 a few mouthes, but I don't know any thing about KDE, just want to try. Today, I tried magiea 2 KDE version. Before installing, I backuped some important data in a DVD+RW, and then, I installed magiea 2. Everything seems no problem, unless I don't know how to mount my data DVD... After inserting my DVD, it could not auto show up in Dolphin. Anyone can help me? Please?

Thank you.

Maybe the DVD was not closed, see if you can read it in a different operating system.

Thank you for your help. I can use this data DVD+RW in other system. Some CDs and DVDs can be mounted automaticly now. However, I used K3B to check this data DVD, then it said that this DVD it rewritable and EMPTY.... So I am confused by this situation so much. Is it a bug? or If you guys can use DVD+RW without any problem?

i had the same issue with my wifes laptop.
i could read dvd-cd on my laptop but not hers.
i did another fresh install of mageia 2 and unchecked both boxes when it came to removing packages.
everything works fine now.
i'm using a dell with amd 64 and radeon hd.
hope this helps

I haven't used KDE (or optical media) for some time, but there used to be a "New device notifier" applet somewhere on the panel, which asked you what you wanted to do with the disk. (I don't know if that applet is still present on current KDE systems.)

Device noitfier can be found when you click on the little up-arrow left from the clock. ;)

Thanks for all of your help! I will try to check my DVD under KDE use your way. If it still can't be found. I am going to reintall Mageia 2 and don't let it remove any package.

As a workaround, you can also just copy your data from another system which can read the DVD to an external harddrive or something similar, and then under Mageia just insert this.
