I'm trying to upgrade to Mageia 2 via the DVD. I boot from the DVD and I get the "Welcome to Mageia install help" screen and that's it. I cannot advance past this screen and any input is ignored, except ctrl-alt-delete. I also re-downloaded and burned another disc in case there was a problem with the first one. No luck. I'm using a Dell XPS L502X.

hello,
Did you check your downloaded ISO with md5sum or sha1 ?
Have you already installed an OS from a downloaded ISO and a burned DVD with success ?
Are you using RW DVDs ?
I don't remember the sentence "Welcome to Mageia install help", so I think that it is wrong from the beginning.

I tried again with yet another DVD, this one seems to be working. Apparently I had a couple bad ones in the case (although I got no errors when burning). It seems to be working so far, the upgrade is proceeding as I type this. Also, the "Welcome to Mageia install help" screen does flash briefly before the main installation menu appears, just FYI. You can delete this thread if you want since there was really no problem other than some bad disks.
