[SOLVED] 4 blinking little tabs at the top of my screen

just installed mageia 2 and i have these blinking lines or tabs or little vertical dashes looking things obout a quarter inch long.
it's driving me nuts.
but i can't figure out how to get rid of them.
i figure it something simple,
i just don't know what it is.

i'll work on getting windows to boot later.
but this is a deal breaker if i can't get it to go away.
really thought i had found what i was looking for all along.

Mine did that yesterday, ATI 4200 on a laptop. It was the first time I seen it. I logged out and back in and they were gone. There is also a thread about stray dots on the screen.

Are you using ATI, Nvidia or what?

Search for dots on the forum and see...I don't remember if it is connected.

That did it. Logout, login.
And using ati.
Knew it would be simple.

Now to get everything else to work.

One note...Mine had never done it...so it may reappear. It reminded me of a bad video card that would have stray pixels all the time. I'd like to know the cause...will post it if I can figure out why??
