I've just upgraded from Mageia 1 to Mageia 2 (Gnome) on my laptop, no problems even sorted a wi-fi issue but the most simple thing I can't sort.
My screensaver (from Mageia 1 the slide show with planets etc) seems to be turned off and I can't find where to turn it back on. Can someone help?

Sorry, I do not understand whether you don't have a screensaver at all, or whether you can't find your preferred one from Mageia 1

Screensaver settings should be somewhere in gnome-control-center, should be somwhere in the Screen section, you should find something like "Brightness & Lock" (at least that's what it would be called when translating it) you can choose and enable/disable screensaver there.

Thanks for the replies.
Marja - There is no screen saver at all, I did have on nice planetary scene while I still had Mageia 1 but nothing now.
doktor5000 - In Brightness & lock there is only settings to alter the brightness and turn on and off the screen lock. There's no setting for screensaver and I can't remember if it was different with Mageia 1 but certainly not there in Mageia 2.

It's been a while since I last used GNOME, but see if you can run "gnome-screensaver". It should be part of a standard GNOME install - if it can't be found, install it from the repositories.
The screensaver itself may have been installed separately, as I don't recall a planet-based one in the default set (back in the days of GNOME 2) or in those used with xscreensaver (an alternative screensaver utility - GNOME 2 reused several ones designed for xscreensaver).
