why kde in mageia 2 still useing a software driver

This forum is dedicated to basic help and support :

Ask here your questions about basic installation and usage of Mageia. For example you may post here all your questions about getting Mageia isos and installing it, configuring your printer, using your word processor etc.

Try to ask your questions in the right sub-forum with as much details as you can gather. the more precise the question will be, the more likely you are to get a useful answer

What do you mean with software driver? If you don't connect your audio equipment via HDMI, then the Analog Stereo one is the only one which will offer sound.

this built in driver kmix suggested it to use it instead intel-hda

i dont know why

so i go to its configuration panel to change it

then kde give me a message like this

kmix found there is a driver called intel-hda but it will be dropped since its will not be used

so i answered its Q for that decision with no

but its ignore my choice and dropped it and use built in driver instead intel-hda

Again: The intel-HDA thing is for HDMI ouput, the other for normal output. I've already wrote that before.
If you change that there will be no sound at all. I'm afraid you've got an understanding problem there ...

then tell me why kde 4.6 in mageia 1 used intel-hda

and kde 4.8 in mageia 2 use this buggy driver

There is some confusion here... "Built in Analog Stereo" is like to be your Intel HDA device, it's just called something nicer and more generic rather than a brand name most users don't know.

I also think there is some confusion as kmix does not really suggest anything similar regarding intel-hda nor will it give any pop up messages about devices not being available or falling back to other devices. This is likely something coming from Phonon or some other system, not kmix. So I think in order to be clearer about which components you have the problem with you need to do a few things to show us exactly what you are referring to.

Please:
1. Attach the output of "pacmd ls"
2. Attach screenshots of what you see in the "Playback Devices" tab of kmox.
3. Attach screenshots of the popups your refer to and where you configure things to use Intel HDA.

colin ..... this is the output for pacmd ls

No problem with that, i've forwarded your problem to Colin, who's your pulseaudio maintainer and sound guru in general.

OK, so this "Built in Analog Stereo" is your intel HDA. If you want to switch to your HDMI you can change profile (you'll have to use the Phonon config in systemsettings to do this).

So can I ask, do you hear sound? You'll obviously have to turn the volume up (it's at 0 just now in your screen shot).
