Logitech Marble Mouse

I have Magieia 2 Beta3 and I just bought a Logitech Marble Mouse. It has 4 buttons (Large Left, Small Left, Large Right, Small Right). The large buttons work as typical left/right mouse buttons. The small buttons work as forward (right) and back (left). Is there any way I can change this so that one will work as a scroll button?

Thanks,
Steve

Steve:

The information on this page should get you going: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Logitech_Marble_Mouse.

I've not tried it in Mageia yet, but I have used it successfully in Ubuntu.

The file to which you will add instructions (called 10-evdev.conf) is found in Mageia at: /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-evdev.conf.

Essentially, all you need do (if you are right handed) is to copy and paste the parameters as they are given under the "Configuration File" heading. (Use kwrite to open the '10-evdev.conf' file; paste the Arch Linux copy at the end.) Note: If you are a lefty, you will want to make some adjustments to the parameters! Also do not forget to make a backup copy of '10-evdev.conf' before you start, so that you can put things back if the modification does not work.

Lastly, from time to time an update will come along that will return '10-evdev.conf' to its original state. In this case you will need to modify it again.

Sorry this reply has come along so much time after you posted your question, but I installed Mageia myself for the first time today. :|

Nice, I'm also clicking this on a marble mouse. Have to try this when I have some time.

I used to have a configuration with a mouse wheel, but then it broke on a past Linux and I never bothered to get it working again. 8-)
