Using existing Home partition

I have only been a Linux user for about a year. I have been playing around with Mageia for a little bit. For some reason this is the only RPM distro I have liked. Right now I am using Ultimate Edition 2.9 with Gnome 2.32.0. I really like Gnome desktop but I hate 3.0. Any way, I am thinking of dual booting my computer with Mageia with Gnome. When I do set it up how would I install it and use my already existing Home partition? It would be easy to do alot of things like listen to music and have access to different folders. Thanks

In the partitioning step, go for custom partitioning, create a new / partition for Mageia, and use the existing /home partition.
But you may want to create a new user, otherwise reusing existing settings may or may not lead to many small glitches.
Then over time you can migrate all your settings to the new user. At least that would be a good idea for KDE, maybe GNOME is
more tolerant with existing settings from a different distro.
