G'day,

I get a lot of non english updates in the software package updates.

How can I remove them or change my settings so they are not included in the repository updates

Thank you

welcome to Mageia

if you are referring to mozilla firefox and thunderbird, i have found that by going to: mageia control centre, , software management, install and remove software, enter programme name into search box [ in my case firefox ] . a list is generated for all search word matches, some of which will have a check mark beside them, uncheck those locales that are of no use to you and then "apply "bottom right of screen. at the next update only the remaining locale you have select should be updated. unfortunately you need do this for each programme.

i trust this is of use. other users may have a less cumbersome methodology.

regards

thanx for your reply.

I have indeed had problems in the past with mozilla. Currently the issue is with something called auto correction rules in 7 languages.

I will keep your suggestion in mind though, when the next update of firefox and thunderbird happens

I just tried your solution with the auto correction program.....called autocorr.....in the software updates.

Unticked the irrelevant languages and voila it worked.

Thanx for the tip

Doing a
Code: Select all
sudo urpme autocorr -a
Will save you a lot of time. You can then reinstall the autocorr-<your language> that you need afterwords. It will save you 30 minutes or so
Image Flexibility is good and inxi is good... install both!
