[SOLVED] Akonadi?

Background.
My hard drive looks like it maybe failing so I used rsync to copy /home to a partition on a new drive then installed Mageia 1which I was using on the old drive.
The problem with the new install is that kmail will download mails but will not let me see them because of akonadi errors, the same happens with kaddressbook . I can't even log into this forum from the new installation with the correct user name and password but I can log into other forums.

I tried moving ~/.kde4 which of course moved kmail and kaddressbook but I was still unable to log in here.

Uhmm - whats the relation between your browsers profile dir (where the cookies are stored) and Akonadi?

The problem logging in here was between the chair and keyboard.
The problem with Akonadi and kmail/kaddressbook however remains.
See attachment.

Any ideas are appreciated as it's a pain to go to ~/.kde4...../cur to read my email, opening one message at a time and using a web-mail account for sending.

This may help

In particular reply 18. It worked for me with pclos but then I abandoned akonadi as i found it too resource hungry.
I use claws mail for all my mail accounts including messages from cron.

I'd try viewtopic.php?p=12127#p12127 to simply reinitialize a clean akonadi setup.
But i can't really help you further what to do with your mails during/after that, as i don't use akonadi nor kmail.

Thanks to both of you. :D
I was looking in the wrong place for the akonadi folder, ~/.kde4 instead of ~/.local

Kmail now works and all the saved emails are there.
Kaddressbook is empty and will need rebuilding but I expected that.
