[SOLVED] kmail akonadi failure

Postby calvert » Dec 29th, '11, 14:38

i use kmail for my mail client, but its throwing an error about akonadi personal information management not being available,

my mails have loaded but i cannot access them or send mails,

i've edited akonadiserverrc to show StartServer as false and rebooted, the error persists,
tried it as root, error persists

in a terminal it (mainly) says error 255 and unknown error, here is an output from terminal as normal user

Code: Select all
[dave@Mageia ~]$ kmail

Do you have Nepomuk enabled?

Hi,

I had the same problem on a new install too.

To give you hope I did resolve the issue quite easily.

Hmmm, firstly I opened the akonadi server configuration tool - Alt+f2 and type "akonadi" and choose the relevant option.

Then I tested the server - I got an error message about D-bus and akonadi not talking to each other. (whatever that means)

Here is the good bit, though only recommended on a new install, I removed the following folder:

/home/.local/share/akonadi folder and back in the server configuration started the akonadi server - all was hunky dory.

pressing "alt+." in dolphin will show your hidden folders to do this.

Hope this helps.
