Here are the steps for booting Live Mageia isos from usb. I refused to accept DD for Windows was the only way to make a live usb from Windows 7 so I found this way to do it. It works perfectly, I am typing this from Live usb now.

Before these steps you should format your flash drive. Click on My Computer and locate your flash drive, right click on it and click format. Select Fat32 as filesystem and click Format

1 Download live Iso
2 place iso on Desktop
3 rename to "mageia" without quotes
4 open command prompt. Click start orb and type "cmd" without quotes
5 type following commands
Code: Select all
cd Desktop
ren mageia.iso mageia.img

6 Download this
http://ubuntuone.com/4erO51kCZ9oC8ufQpXb22u
7 extract it (right click and click extract)
8 start executable file in folder.
9 select mageia.img on desktop and your flashdrive and start the transfer. When it is done you will have a fully working live usb created from Windows 7 the easy way =)

FWIW, Rufus http://rufus.akeo.ie/ works too, without even needing to touch the command line.
